The Ballet Company of the City of Niterói presents the show "Presenças na Ausência", a creation by Rio de Janeiro choreographer Esther Weitzman. The composition proposes a reflective and choreographic look at the cycle of Modernism, which had its trajectory strongly marked by the Modern Art Week of 1922. Through the movement crossed by the events of current Brazilian history and its more recent past, the dancers weave the their gestures and their spatiotemporal relationships in the context of the scene and beyond.

The restlessness and pertinent uncertainties - contemporary times - dance, exposing on the body the marks and memories of a Brazil full of nuances. In the end, the stage overflows with Brazilianness: an artistic catharsis, renewing belief in art, culture, and the strength of the Brazilian people.
