Taught by artist Diana Aires and aimed at children aged 6 to 12.
This workshop invites us to explore the process of photographic exposure, starting from sunlight and using natural elements including fruit, vegetables and leaves that we come across in our daily lives.
From the plate, the vegetable garden or a branch to a sheet of paper, we intend to create compositions with the different colors and shapes we find in nature, which will be revealed little by little by ultraviolet rays.
These artistic processes, contaminated by scientific knowledge, have been explored as a way of connecting with our surroundings, attentively searching for pigments and less immediate alternative techniques for fixing images, figures and silhouettes on a variety of surfaces. Anthotype uses natural pigments found in vegetables and fruit, while phytotype explores leaves as a super cie, but both use the wear and degradation of these natural elements to reveal images, thus allowing participants to tell their own stories and narratives.
