Fernanda Paulo & Múcio Sá

Musician

Portugal

Born in Caldas da Rainha, Fernanda Paulo graduated in Communication Studies at Nova University of Lisbon. Furthermore, she has a master diploma in theater from the Lisbon Theater and Film School and followed theater courses at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Fernanda is well experienced in multiple musical and theatrical projects, especially in Portugal and Latin America. She also worked for television and cinema productions. Her passion in both music and theater evidently leads to fado music. Regularly, she interprets the Portuguese genre in either big concerts or intimate evenings. Previous concerts were held in Rio de Janeiro, New York, Montevideo, Paris, Prague, and most recently, in Switzerland.

Múcio Sá is a musician and musicologist. He was born in Bahia, Brasil, but moved many years ago to Portugal, where he was introduced to fado. He continues his research with a doctorate in ethnomusicology and cultural politics in Brazil and Portugal. Besides that, he plays classical guitar and the twelve-string Portuguese guitar. He easily switches from classical concerts with a symphonic orchestra to concerts of African music and fado. He currently teaches guitar and music culture at the School of Technology and Arts Lisbon.
