Plastic People

Musicians

Portugal

Plastic People are a band that oscillates between love and hate, between light and darkness, between lust and decadence. Songs with vibrant masks, combining simple melodies and atmospheric sounds as if out of a punk romance.

Its essence is umbilically linked to its homeland: Alcobaça, a city on the coast 100km north of Lisbon, where a generalized sense of a decadent bourgeoisie installed in some pillars of society ends up defining the aesthetics and sound of the band. They live in a world inhabited by bands like The Velvet Underground, Joy Division, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Suicide, David Bowie or Iggy Pop. Plastic People are João Gonçalo (voice), André Frutuoso (guitar) and JT (synthesizers, keyboards, voice).
