Marta Mesquita was born in Lisbon in 1984. She holds a degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Advertising and Marketing, both from the School of Media and Communication (Escola Superior de Comunicação Social).

After 15 years working as a journalist—during which she focused mainly on society and culture—she decided to change careers, becoming a non-fiction publisher at Contraponto, an imprint of the Grupo Bertrand Círculo.

In May 2025, she became Executive Publisher at Contraponto, where she has been coordinating the team ever since.
